The Secret
So for Christmas I received a DVD in the mail. I had no clue who it was from or what it was so I set it aside with no intentions of watching it. A few weeks later I get an email from my grandmother asking if I had received the DVD she sent me in the mail and I thought oh that's where that came from. That night I came back to my CHU (my room in Iraq) and watched the DVD and the first two minutes I am thinking ok this is not a regular movie what is this?! I watch some more and then about 10 min into the DVD I just feel myself believing and understanding the power of the SECRET. In the DVD they basically say there are three steps to health, wealth, and happiness and that is to Ask, Believe, Receive. The other is to be grateful for what you have and say thank you for what you have and also what you want as if you already have it, do not focus on what you do not want only focus on what you want. I have been doing this daily and I also watch the DVD when I feel that I am not on track. That DVD and the gratitude book that I write in daily, I feel have really changed my life for the better. As with everything else that my grandmother recommends I took it very seriously and thats the only reason I continued to watch the DVD. So today I went back through my gratitude book and read over the section in the book that is titled Gratitude Intentions (basically saying thank you for what you want as if you have it). Everything that I have written down over and over again saying thank you and strongly believing as if I already had it, I have today! AMAZING!! Me personally when I say thank you I say thank you to god as I always have. The only difference I feel that I have made is to be more thankful for what I have now and to say thank you daily for the little things. I encourage everyone I know to try it for a few months and they will see and feel a change. I know I have and I hope that you do too. Thank you Grandma!!

On my mind
So lately I have been coming across these articles that have brought me to tears. The first is an article I found on cnn.com and it is talking about HIV/AIDS and how it is the number one killer of Black Women ages 25-34. I will be writing a paper for my english class on this very topic. The other article was on nytimes.com and it was talking about what young women and girls have to go through just to get an education in Afghanistan. I will post the links later just wanted to share that with you.
Back on my Blog
So after being strongly encouraged by my grandmother and sister to get back to blogging I am back!!! I realized I do have a lot that I would like to say about many topics and things that I see or come into contact with daily. So I am off to make this a totally cool experience for me and hopefully you too!! MUAH!
